Write about what you know, right?

Well, it may come as a shock to the world, but I have recently been called as the Lynbrook District Webmaster (italicized to emphasize coolness). As crazy as that may sound, my job is basically to update the calender of the Lynbrook District on the lds.org website. But what truly is crazy is this - I am an official administrator with an official administrator's account. What up! Anyway, I was called to be the Webmaster by President Sorensen last Sunday, so today was my second time actually checking the website to look for updates from the branch presidents in the district. I feel a beneficial relationship blooming, like the columbines on Columbine Street past Flower Road. What is a webmaster job? you ask. Well, after I sign in, I click Administrator Options and check for updates from the presidents. Then I add in any events I can remember - with notes, dates, and times. I check to make sure that other events are correct and ask dad for updates. Today I filled in the correct lessons on the little chart for Relief Society and the Priesthood Lessons on Sundays. And, truth be told, with this as my second time on the job, I'm really enjoying the work. There's something about being considered trustworthy enough to become an administrator on the church website and be the main person to help with the calender. It feels pretty good. For example, one of the options for adding in an event on the calender is "Calender Notification: Send an e-mail to--" and then "the Young Women," for example. After clicking yes for this option for many of the events that are happening in a couple of months, I received an e-mail from Pres. Scala. Rachel, Thank you for keeping us informed. bro. Scala The e-mail I'd sent was "This is to inform you of the Young Men Aaronic Priesthood> Fireside which will happen on 5/24/2009. If you would like> more information, please see the Web site." In May. For the Young Men. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for kind and forgiving branch presidents. I sent about seven like that, all appearing in my inbox. This calling is going to be fun. :)

RO, I LOVE that you got this calling. That Dad, that heaven--genius.

I've never met a real live, I'm-claiming-it webmaster. And now here you are, female, 16, my little sister, literary-minded, even. It pleases me so much I can't even handle it.

Can Beka please soon be called to be the district physical facilities coordinator? I'd love that too.
