The Olsons and Their Roof Adventures

Today we roofed the roof. (more to come on the adventure part)
Okay, continuation of update:
I am now officially COVERED in dirt. Mother and father woke early in the morning to continue pulling off tar and shingle-ish things, and are still up there. They've been very kind and accepting of the fact that Bek and I haven't really been up there all day.
The back section of the house, where the roof is, is now completely wood panelling. Mom and Dad have been refitting new, better pieces of dry wood to replace the dead and rotting ones. In a strange and odd way, the roof looks completely lovely, just a tan wood and trees all around. A bit extraordinary.
We decided that the roof needed to be replaced a long time ago, but dad has a break from work and so we decided it should be now. During this time, mom and I have decided not to eat sugar for an entire month (no correlation) just to see if we could do it.
I am INCREDIBLY cranky and very, very, very unhappily whiny. I've only gone without sugar for two and a half days, and I feel like I'm perpetually fasting. It's not so bad, but I'm pretty sure my body is in sugar withdrawal. I never realized how much of my diet depended on it. Mom's been much better at it than I have. She's pretty amazing.
Today is the Fourth of July. :)
Have a great day!

oh, but once you're done with the withdrawal you will love how it feels to have a body that is not addicted to sugar! I'm really proud of you, I have quite a sweet tooth myself.
