Tangled: An Immensely Satisfying Viewing Experience

Peter and I went to see Tangled at Sunrise this evening, in celebration of the 22 years he has now been alive. And, you know what? It really, really rocked. Peter went in with slightly lower expectations, although he had willingly jumped into the car when we realized the last viewing was five minutes from when we checked the movie website, and we ran down the hallway to the theater almost at the very end of the building. We slipped in a couple minutes after it started, and it was totally delightful. Well done, visually beautiful, well-acted, well-sung, and HILARIOUS. We laughed much, and often. And then, after credits, we headed over to the food court at the mall for some Japanese food and subs, as well as an attempted try at the little kids' "playground" with the cars you put coins into and have move with you inside of them. Unfortunately, apparently only eight year-olds enjoy those things, as that is the age limit for them. So, we headed back through the mall, into Macy's, and out into the cold night where the new snow had not stuck, although it came down in a downpour. After eating the cake Sister Anderson dropped off (which was delicious, moist, well-iced, and chockful of chocolate chunks), we listened to Darwin Deez and MGMT's Kids, and danced with our shoulders and feet. Now we are sitting in the den, side by side, enjoying our time on our own laptops, and thinking of good things. More dancing, more satisfying things to come. Happy birthday, Peter! You rock.
